Blue Bird! Arty Girlz Challenge #45

This card is for a challenge I entered at Arty Girlz (link can be found on right hand side of screen).Only the second challenge I have entered! The challenge was that it had to be Blue.
I am really enjoying clear embossing so I used this technique on the background with these lovely sassafra lass owl stamps. I used MM for the circles and scallop circle, then I ran the scallop circle through my cuttlebug using the swiss dots embossing folder.
As always I appreciate your comments.

Colour inspiration

This is from one of my favorite blogs I visit regularly kwerner (link can be found on the right), colour inspiration.
See my entry below.
TFL

Cupcake!

I just love this cake from doodlecharms cart (obviously with candle cut off), with another of my loves the scallop circle from MM.

For the pink background paper I used one of my new stamps from Papermania a little cupcake, then I used clear embossing powder. I really like this technique so I think you will see a lot more of it from me!

The glitter for icing on the cupcake is doodlebug sugar coatings

This is just a little notelet really as it is only 4"x4". I want to make a set but need something to make envelopes for them any ideas for that please leave me a comment.

P.S you may notice that this card is different from the one posted on MB, I realised i needed to add another colour for a colour challenge I'm entering.

Baby Girl card

This is one of my latest cards, a friend of mine has just had a little baby girl.
The scallop circle is from MM, the baby feet is NA.
I ran the scallop circle through cuttlebug with swiss dots, the feet is cut out of glitter card stock.
The background paper is DCWV, and of course I used my threading water punch along the bottom.
The ribbon is American crafts, I can't believe that i can actually get American craft stuff from Hobbycraft in the UK now, I love all there stuff!
The colours for this card are not the normal colours you would use for a baby card, but I think it really works! (you can't see very well in the picture but the card is dark brown).

As the card is dark bown I had to make inserts inside so it could be written on, to finish it off I used this lovely little stamp from papermania!

Hope you like it and TFL.

Flower thanks!

I had a play around here with a trifold card, to make a pocket on the front that could have a small gift in it i.e. money etc, I eventually made a tiny note pad with my BIA to fit in the pocket.

The flower is from WIMG cut twice I then ran the white one through my cuttlebug swiss dots and chalked the edges.

Love waterfall

This is another waterfall card that I have made.

As you can tell I like most things pink.

The letters are from Mickey font, the hearts are doodlecharms.

The paper is from one of my many DCWV paper pads (I just love there mat stacks).

I added some little heart shaped gems down the side of the L and V.

People just love getting these as they are so different.

Hello ewe!

I used PDDU for the little sheep, I cut it twice, once in black and once in white.

I ran the white one through the cuttlebug swirls embossing folder.

I used fun flock on the black one to give it an fluffy look.

The sky is done with chalks.
The fence is also from PDDU, the grass is fro ZB.

The letters are from Pooh font.

Finally i added a little prima and some sparkle!

Owl box in a bag!

Another of these boxes in a bag (now I know how to make them I just love them!)

I stamped the paper with my favourite sassafras lass owl stamp (Olivia and friends), to get it evenly spaced I used re positionable glue and glued the paper on to my cutting matt so i could line up my ruler. I am really pleased with the way it turned out.

Instead of cutting a tab with fabulous finds i just used my big bite to set some eyelets and feed the ribbon through. Threading water punch for the boarder around the bottom.

This one is bigger than the last.

Box in a bag!

These are brilliant as gift bags and if you have the correct size paper you make them as big or as small as you want them.

I got the idea for this from Dannie's blog, there is a tutorial on Paula Goff blog (inking addict).

I changed it a little as I wanted it to be a little smaller.
You start of by making a small box (no lid), then you wrap your colour or designer paper around the box. I added cut flowers and buttons to the front, and of course I used my much loved threading water punch for the piece around the base. Finally i added contrasting ribbon to the top to close
The tabs at the top are from fabulous finds, the flowers are from george.

Notice board

Close up for flower

What you'll need if you want to make one:

Ply board (any size)

Fabric just bigger than the ply board

Wadding " "

Staple gun

Ribbon

Embellishments

I made this notice board from an old piece of ply board.

-Cut the fabric to the correct size (slightly larger than the board)

-The wadding should be cut only just larger than the board and smaller than fabric

-Pull the material and wadding tight behind the ply board

-Staple around the edges

-Fold the corners like you would a present (nice and tight) and staple

-Staple the ribbon across the board

-Adhere you embellishments where the ribbons cross to cover the staples

I used primas and brads

Quick and easy project that takes about 15mins.

First project with pink crop-a-dile big bite!!!!!

As promised i made this ribbon storage box with my crop-a-dile! It was a little difficult to get used to at the start as it is different from the original crop-a-dile! But i got used to it and the reach is fantastic!

The box is actually a gift box from a card shop!

I made a template out a piece of paper to cut the holes out of the box at regular intervals.

I cut a scalloped squares out with mini monograms and ran it through my cuttlebug with swiss dots folder, i then stuck these on the front of the box.

The eyelets came with the accessory kit that was also on offer on QVC last week i had to get that too it would have been rude not to!!!

Glad i did now as it is wait list only! also gives me a place to store the big bite:)

So i had a really bad night sleep wise last night (was still awake at 3am!)

But there was an upside to this, i was awake when QVC annouced their TSV, which was a pink crop-a-dile big bite with a load of other bits!

I almost got one at the weekend, glad i didn't the one i was going to get didn't come with any gromits or eyelets it wasn't pink and it was £35!!!! Well the offer on QVC was only £23.

I love all my craft gadgets! Just need more space to store them all!!!!!!!!

Sweet waterfall card

I made this waterfall card a little while ago, they are so simple to make but look fantastic and very impressive!

The cakes are from cricut cartridge doodle charms, and the rub on was a freebie with a magazine.
